Usually it is difficult for Quality professionals to communicate the impact of Quality practices to the business success. I suggest that whenever Quality practices are initiated, one should also keep a track of product/service quality & try to correlate the impact of these practices to business results. Ex:- No of defects/On time to the process compliance metrics. But one to one correlation may not be always possible. Because, for the success it is not just process compliance that matters. There are whole lot of factors that matters like the people aspects, leadership etc. It is important for quality professionals to communicate these to the management. Once management understands these, then it would help quality professionals to get more buyin.
