Reviews and testing

a) Yes.

 b) Reviews, Testing and Checking are all QC functions. A dedicated team is required to capture defects and report bugs, with the focus on break testing.

If Testing and reviews are done by development team, there is a possibility that things will be missed. New department would grow and mature on these QC activities and will keep on improving the processes.

This will result in high quality software by reducing the defects in the code.

c) To preclude this practice.

• Plan on the activities of the new department & form the team.
• Institutionalize the process needed.
• Train the people and implement the process
• Inform everyone in company about this new dept and its function.
